PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley senior sweeper Joe Donoho (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit H.S.) picked up his third All-America award of the year this past weekend by landing a spot on the NSCAA/adidas All-America Third Team, according to a tally of coaches released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Friday.
Donoho becomes just the fourth player in program history to earn NSCAA/adidas All-America honors, following three-time selection Gavin Glinton (1998 2nd Team, 2000 3rd Team and 2001 3rd Team), Tim Regan (2002 2nd Team) and Chris Dunsheath (2005 1st Team). Donoho earlier was named to the College Soccer News All-America second team and the Top Drawer Soccer honorable mention squad.
A 6-foot-3 sweeper, Donoho turned in a dominating season at both ends of the field for the Braves. Bradley’s first-ever Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, Donoho anchored a back line that helped produce nine shutouts during the 2007 season. He also finished as the team’s third-leading scorer with 15 points on six goals and three assists and led the Braves with four game-winning goals.
Donoho’s play in 2007 helped Bradley (16-6-4) to a program-record 16 wins, a sweep of the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and postseason tournament championships and a run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship.
