In August 2006, former Bradley University President Dr. David Broski unveiled a 15-year master plan for campus that is highlighted by the construction of the Athletics Performance Center and Men's Basketball Practice Facility, a combined $50 million project.

Construction on the two facilities began in the fall of 2008 following the demolotion of Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse.  The Athletics Performance Center will house a 4,500-seat arena for the Bradley women's basketball and volleyball teams, as well as athletic department offices and state-of-the-art sports medicine and strength and conditioning facilities.  The Men's Basketball Practice Facility will be one of the nation's finest men's basketball training facilities in the country.

"I am passionate about having outstanding facilities for students and faculty, and the brand new Markin Family Student Recreation Center, as well as the new athletic performance center and men’s basketball practice facility, will truly enhance the Bradley experience for the entire campus," Bradley University President Joanne Glasser said.
