Tied his career high with eight strikeouts March 27 against Wichita State ... After seeing his ERA balloon to 7.12 in his first eight appearances as a starter, he shifted to the bullpen and allowed only two earned runs in 9.2 innings (1.86 ERA) in his final five appearances ... Earned his lone save of the season May 9 against Illinois State, pitching the final 1.2 innings of Bradley's 5-3 win.

2008 - Sophomore
Tied for second on the team with four wins (4-5) and added one save, pushing his career total to six ... Started strong by allowing only one run on three hits Feb. 23 at Murray State ... After working as a starter in his first seven appearances of the year, moved to the bullpen for the second half of the season ... Earned wins in his first three relief appearances, including two in a series sweep at Southern Illinois and April 19 against Missouri State.

2007 - Freshman
The Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, Altbach led the Bradley pitching staff with seven wins, five saves and a 2.66 ERA ... Appeared in 12 of Bradley's 24 Valley games, going 3-0 with five saves and a 1.98 ERA ... At one point, Altbach closed out five straight Valley games for the Braves, including all three games of the sweep at Indiana State ... Enjoyed a streak of eight consecutive appearances, totaling 12.2 innings, without allowing an earned run ... Closed out Bradley's opening-round win against Evansville in the MVC Tournament ... Allowed two runs on six hits in 7.1 innings of work and earned the win against Missouri State in the third round of the conference tourney.

A four-year letterwinner, Altbach helped Glenbrook North (Ill.) H.S. to two regional championships ... Named all-state his senior season and all-area three years ... Posted a 1.10 ERA with a 9-0 record and 98 strikeouts in 60 innings during his senior campaign.
