PEORIA, Ill. - The Bradley men's basketball team will play its third consecutive "opening" game when the Braves (1-1) host Southern Conference member Wofford (2-1) in the first round of the 2009 HoopTV Las Vegas Invitational Sunday evening at Carver Arena. After dropping a 70-60 decision in the 2009-10 season-opener Nov. 13 at BYU, Bradley downed Idaho State, 74-69, in its home opener last Sunday at Carver Arena. Wofford dropped a 63-30 decision at Pittsburgh in its season-opener, but the Terriers have rebounded with a pair of victories, 60-57 Tuesday night at Georgia and 81-39 at home Thursday night against Lees-McRae. Sunday's game will be the first-ever meeting between Bradley and Wofford. Bradley and Illinois will flip-flop opponents for second-round action in the HoopTV Las Vegas Invitational. Presbyterian, which visits Illinois Saturday night, will visit Carver Arena for a 7:05 p.m. game Tuesday in the second round of the tournament, while the Illini will host Wofford Tuesday night. Those four teams will be joined by Oklahoma State, Seattle, Southern and Utah for the final two rounds Nov. 27-28 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Bradley will take on Oklahoma State in a 7 p.m. (CST) game Nov. 27, followed by Illinois against Utah. The Friday evening winners will face each other in the final game at 9:30 p.m. (CST) Nov. 28, which will be preceded by a contest between the two Friday evening losers at 7 o'clock.
