PEORIA, Ill. -- Sixth-year Bradley head coach Paula Buscher will welcome a pair of junior college players to the 2006-07 roster as Andrea Barber (Topeka, Kan./Topeka H.S./Barton County Community College) and Jasmin Wright (Beale Airforce Base, Calif./Wheatland H.S./Yuba College) have both signed National Letters of Intent and will attend Bradley this fall.

A 5-6 point guard, Barber will have three years of eligibility remaining after averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game as a freshman at Barton County. She helped the Cougars to the Region VI finals and a 28-6 overall record. A starter in 24 of the 28 games she saw action in, Barber helped Barton County to a national ranking as high as 19th and second place finish in the Jayhawk Conference.

She ranked among the league leaders in steals, assists and assist-to-turnover ratio in her lone season at Barton County. Barber averaged 17 points, two rebounds and four assists as a junior at Topeka High School, before missing her senior year to an injury.

"She is a good floor leader," Buscher said. "Andrea is a very competitive individual and has a knack for making the players around her better. She is an explosive guard that can find an open teammate or score on her own."

The younger sister of former Bradley men’s basketball player Lawrence Wright, Jasmin is a 5-11 forward. She earned first-team All-Bay Valley Conference honors as a sophomore as she led the league in scoring at 20 points per game. Wright also averaged eight rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per contest while connecting on a school record 74 three-pointers as a sophomore.

Jasmin scored 30 or more points three times in 2005-06. She was named the conference Most Valuable Player her senior year of high school, helping lead Wheatland to a sectional title.

"We are excited to add Jasmin to our team," Buscher said. "She is a tremendous athlete with the ability to play inside and out. A very unselfish player with a great personality, she has great versatility which will help her compete for time on the court immediately and we are looking forward to both Jasmin and Andrea helping us take our program to the next level."

Barber and Wright join 5-10 guard Renee Frericks (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake H.S.) and 6-1 wing player Jenny Van Kirk (Waconia, Minn./Waconia) in the Braves incoming class for the 2006-07 season.
